For many years, this scale of production generated a significant amount of plastic waste without a recycling solution. With a focus on sustainability, Placard resisted sending the waste to landfill, instead storing it while looking for an environmentally responsible solution. But finding a solution that addressed the complexities of the card waste, including inks and metal inlays seemed easier said than done.
Placard worked with PVC industry bodies to identify like-minded partners to help them on this journey – and in 2023 a successful partnership with Think Polymer technologies was born.
Think Polymer Technologies now repurposes PVC card waste from Placard into our range of fencing, decking, garden edging, and equine products.
No longer storing card waste or contemplating landfill, Placard can confidently state that by working with Think Polymer Technologies, they have turned a problem into a solution, reducing their environmental footprint and realising economic benefits along the way.
