Resi Loop

Driving a Circular Mindset

Resilient flooring (PVC-based) contributes an estimated 60,000 tonnes of waste to Australian landfills annually—9,000 tonnes of which has never even been walked on.

ResiLoop has developed a product stewardship scheme as part of the local industry’s pathway to a circular economy. The scheme addresses the issue of flooring waste, starting with that generated during the installation.

ResiLoop recognised that a successful product stewardship scheme requires a viable end market for the recyclate. As a leading recycler and manufacturer of PVC, Think Polymer Technologies is ideally positioned to advise on this aspect of the scheme, and was the first partner brought on board to repurpose waste flooring in manufacturing.

Our trials with ResiLoop and recent investment in a pilot extrusion line have been tremendously successful and demonstrate circularity in action. By incorporating the flooring waste into our product range, we are providing evidence that the flooring industry can be both economically viable and environmentally sustainable.
